Ristorante Al 53

An incredible amount of warmth and graciousness tonight when I went with my wife and my Italian friend, who had strongly recommended we try this place. We were welcomed with genuine hospitality and bid farewell with equal warmth by the restaurant’s manager. The food was crafted with the highest skill — a true masterpiece of Neapolitan cuisine! The manager left a beautiful human touch on my day and on my entire visit to this wonderful city. Thanks a lot!

When in Naples you must make a stop at Al Vecchio 53 Restaurant. It is located in the historic part of Naples. Once you get to Piazza Dante, you know you are almost there. A hidden jewel in the city! Angelo the owner, Tania and all his staff will greet you with a warm welcome. They are the ultimate hosts. You can try a little of everything, or only your favorites. So much to choose from. If you’re getting full on appetizers, you can ask for 1/2 portion of pasta (sea food the best), or share your main course. One of the best quality value in town. It recently received a certificate of excellence, and one of the oldest restaurants in the city of Naples (Napoli). Politicians, Religious leaders, famous people, and people like you and me can take a break when visiting Naples and enjoy a fabulous meal at 53, and it won’t break the bank. It was my second visit in a number of years, and I know I will be going back every chance I get. Soak it all in. Naples is beautiful❤️🇮🇹🇺🇸🇨🇦❤️

We had dinner and lunch most of the time at our 4 day stay. This was in march, I loved the shrimps, mostly as a starter, main and dessert. Good food for a reasonable price. 2nd time we ate here after a year ago. The shrimps, still amazing. Had lunch and dinner. Also the other dishes were great. The only thing we understood was they had to deal with a kitchen problem, communicate this with you customers at your terrace. The older guy (waiter) did this, he was running the restaurant and apologised. The other staff didn’t care or couldn’t deal with the situation. We knew what food is served, so for us time wasn’t a problem. I also have to say, my respect for the kitchen dealing with the issue, but guaranteed the quality of food we are familiar with. Hope to come back again. 3rd time we ate here, only this time We had some people with us. We enjoyed our food and I my grilled shrimps😋.o

I recently spent two weeks in Napoli studying Italian. The proprietor of our B&B recommended Al 53 to us, and we returned several times. Paola, our server, was friendly and helpful. And the food was great - especially the seafood appetizer for two. We tried pasta and other fish dishes and enjoyed everything we ate. While the location is in the busy Piazza Dante, it's off to the side so not hectic. We hope to be back. Thank you. Grazie per tutto.
